As an UpperEdge IT Sourcing & Negotiation Senior Advisor, Brett Bettesworth supports the delivery of IT sourcing, negotiation and strategic advisory services to UpperEdge’s clients, with a particular focus on Oracle, Workday, and mid-market engagements.
Brett excels in assessing vendor proposals, negotiation strategy, and complex contracts on behalf of clients. Utilizing his background and expertise in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, technology, and software licensing, he identifies and drives cost-saving opportunities across various client engagements. Brett plays a critical role in analyzing, modeling, and presenting client deliverables to assist in the delivery of successful client outcomes.
Brett has over 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and intellectual property (IP) licensing across the technology sector. Before joining UpperEdge, he served as a Senior Manager of Licensing at Arm, leading strategic commercial licensing initiatives with major semiconductor and chip design companies. While at Arm, Brett was responsible for implementing new, complex licensing models and driving a number of multimillion dollar engagements to completion. Prior to Arm, Brett spent more than 7 years at San Diego-based semiconductor chip designer, Qualcomm, where he held several different IP sourcing and procurement positions. At Qualcomm, he led sourcing initiatives across various market segments and product lines, to deliver best-in-class cost-savings for the company.
Brett received his JD from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, and a concurrent MBA from San Diego State University. He also holds a BA from the University of Washington, where he received his degree in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.
